I haven’t always enjoyed exercise – Growing up I had very little self-confidence because of some of the mean comments I received about my small body and how I looked. I didn’t want to exercise because I thought it would make me lose weight and become even smaller. However, I did love to dance and, at University, I joined the cheerleading team. Then it was a combination of wanting to become a stronger cheerleader and wanting to shape my body that got me into regular training at the gym. I became familiar with weight training and stayed lean while gaining strength and a body shape that I had never had before.
As my body grew stronger so did my self-confidence. I became a dance coach for the cheerleading team as well as a dance coach for themed hen party dance classes and soon discovered my love for coaching and instructing. And this is why I do what I do now. I love helping others gain confidence too, whether it’s confidence in their bodies, confidence moving after an injury, or confidence to dance their heart out.
